Powerboat P1 Inks iHeart Media As Official Media Partner For 2024 Season
Boasting 250 million monthly listeners and 860-plus broadcast stations, iHeart Media has signed on to be an Official Media Partner for the 2024 Powerboat P1 offshore racing season. The London-based organization will produce five events—starting with the May 17-19 season-opener in Cocoa Beach, Fla.—this year. According to a press release issued by Powerboat P1 this morning, the radio-media giant will expand “pre-race promotion and coverage” during the season.

The former organizer of the Sarasota Powerboat Grand Prix and current executive director of Suncoast Charities for Children, Lucy Nicandri worked with iHeart Media when she was involved with the Southwest Florida races. Nicandri, who joined Powerboat P1 earlier this year as its media/marketing officer, reached out to her contacts at the company to gauge their interest and a deal emerged.
“Lucy Nicandri approached us about broadening our reach for the entire race season it aligned perfectly with our brand,” said Frank Harris, iHeart’s senior vice-president of programming, in the release.
Coverage will include traditional broadcast schedules, streaming schedules via the iHeart digital app, on-air giveaways to “amplify Powerboat P1’s VIP hospitality experience,” soundtracks on race weekend and “on-site talent” at several race sites. according to the release.

• WJRR 101.1 Orlando—Thunder On Cocoa Beach, May 16-19.
• WMIL106.1 Milwaukee’s Best Country—Midwest Challenge, August 9-11.
• Z105/CTQ 92.1/WSRZ 107.9—Sarasota Powerboat Grand Prix, September 13-15.
• US 103.5—St. Petersburg Grand Prix, October 18-20.
