Ison Marine To Showcase Potent GSX 36 Center Console In Lake Cumberland Poker Run
In case you missed it during the Lake of the Ozarks Shootout last month—and you may well have given all the spectacular performances during the 36th annual event in Central Missouri—a new GSX Powerboats 36 center console powered by triple Mercury Racing 500R outboard engines—reached 93 mph on the three-quarter-mile course. The 36-footer was piloted by Dan and Julie Weiss of Kentucky. Both are close friends of Tiffany Crawford and her fiancé, Paul Michael Ison, the power-couple behind GSX center console dealer Ison Marine and the recently opened Cigarette of Kentucky dealership.
But the best was yet to come. Crawford and Ison followed it up with a 95-mph run in the new center console.

Given its Shootout performance, the GSX 36 will have no trouble staying with most of the pack this weekend at the Lake Cumberland Poker Run in Kentucky. Crawford and Kruis Retherford, the owner of Dothan, Ala.-based GSX/Glasstream, will run the boat and be available at the docks to show it off and answer questions.
Of course, the 36-foot center console, which reportedly reached 96.3 mph in testing without a distance limitation to reach that speed, is for sale.
“We’re running a ‘poker-run special’ this weekend,” Crawford said. “It is one of the most impressive boats for is size and price-point Paul Michael and I have ever seen. We are thoroughly excited to have this boat at the Lake Cumberland Poker Run and we will be happy to show it to any serious buyer in the area. There’s nothing like it on this lake or anywhere near it.”
Though she won’t be at the Lake Cumberland event this weekend, GSX marketing director Ashely Strong said she is delighted to have the boat showcased in such capable hands and believes the 36-footer will show well.
“I wish I could be there, but regardless I couldn’t be more impressed with the performance and handling of our GSX 36 rigged with triple Mercury Racing 500R outboards and I am excited for everyone to be able to experience this ride,” she said. “It’s no secret that our team has been working diligently on being able to build a top-end performance boat, but still offer the safety of a secure ride. With all the adjustments we’ve made to our build process and hull designs, I think we’ve accomplished just that.”
