“Participants will once again help raise much-needed funds to feed elderly and disabled homebound residents of Anderson County,” explained Josh Overstreet, a development associate for Meals-On-Wheels Anderson.
Highlights of the weekend-long event begin with the “Social On The Green” mixer on Thursday evening. For participants in town early, the organizers have set up a fun run on Friday ahead of the welcome party and live auction.
Saturday’s five-stop fun will be followed a celebration. Throughout the weekends, there will be food trucks, product vendors and live music.
“The Hartwell Lake Charity Fun is just huge for this community,” said Chuck Stark, who lives at Hartwell Lake and will run his MTI-V 42 center console on Friday and his Crypto Outerlimits on Sunday. “I forget how many people it feeds in the community—but it’s awesome.”
Stark, who lives on the shores of Hartwell Lake, is understandably fond of his home waterway.
“Our lake is so pristine,” he added. “We have a hidden gem here.”
