World Debut of the All New 420Z
Sea Vee Boats is pleased to announce the launch of the all new 420Z center console model. The 420Z is the definition of style, balance, and substance in a world-class recreational boat. It is built using a state-of-the-art manufacturing process where the hull, liner, deck, console are fabricated using vacuum-assisted resin transfer Infusion (VARTM). This high-tech, cored, unibody construction results in reduced VOC emissions, a lighter, higher-quality laminate, producing a practically indestructible boat.
The 420Z features an innovative stepped hull design to significantly enhance efficiency and handling. Born of offshore racing technology, the 420Z twin-stepped hull has been perfected for the recreational customer by using proprietary semi-empirical steady state computer modeling.
To achieve the highest performance possible, the 420Z features multiple lifting bodies with unique geometry that results in a fixed running trim angle. The lifting bodies, along with the carefully engineered weight distribution arrangement, ensure the optimum angle of attack that produces maximum hull lift with minimum resistance regardless of speed or sea conditions. The boat simply accelerates as power is applied, with no dangerous bow rise, or undesirable bow dipping. In essence, the 420Z hull has two inherent gears that allow it to achieve remarkable performance throughout a broader range of speed than traditional stepped-hull boats.
The cross ventilated twin stepped hull of the 420Z produces greater efficiency than ordinary stepped hull boats. This is accomplished with an augmented four port air induction system utilizing a central air reservoir unit that produces and maintains the necessary air stream that reduces the power robbing drag of water flow. The result is greater speed and fuel efficiency without the momentary loss of velocity, or instability due to sudden water infringement of the air stream.
The handling characteristics of the 420Z are no less amazing. Improved directional stability, at any speed, is achieved through an array of speed rails
. This Sea Vee patented design produces the appropriate counterforce to hard maneuvering that could cause a conventional stepped hull boat to hook, or otherwise lose control. High speed turns produce opposing concentrated pressure on the speed-rails safely keeping the boat tracking in the desired direction without compromising speed or efficiency. The precise handling performance of the 420Z enhances the safety of the operator and passengers while producing an exhilarating ride experience.
The 420Z is available with a captain’s edition hardtop, aluminum pipework and a polycarbonate enclosure arrangement, or choose a more integrated system consisting of a hardtop with built-in kite box and a molded infused fiberglass windshield frame featuring a superior quality laminated Safety glass windshield. The molded aft support legs incorporate a pair of integrated ladders that provide access to an optional second station.
The extended console features a comfortable forward lounge pad that lifts up to reveal a convenient 89 gal. cooler / storage area. An aft sliding side door leads to the interior standup compartment with ample head room for most people. The space is adorned with solid surface countertops and accents for durability and aesthetic appeal and features a convenient tackle station for rigging in a sheltered environment. A standard forward storage space can be upgraded to a 6’ bunk resting area. There’s room for four Sea Vee custom rod holders to store your tackle upright inside the console for safekeeping. Along with the standard molded sink and faucet, the optional microwave, air conditioning and electrically operated ceramic toilet facilities offer additional comfort and convenience while offshore. The oversized dash area can accommodate practically any offshore electronics package including triple 17” or dual 22’ multi function displays. The air conditioning option also provides cool jets of air to the captain and passengers at the helm and onto the optional second row seating area. The step-up deck between the console and seat arrangement further enhances an already impressive and commanding 360-degree view of your surroundings.
Power hungry accessories such as the optional air conditioning and Seakeeper are energized by a heavy-duty inverter system that keeps them operational for a full day of activities on the water. Moreover, the batteries fully charge overnight so full operation can resume the following day.
With a variety of tower and seating options, the 420Z is designed for practically any activity on the water. Both the Sailfish Tower and Gap Tower options feature all aluminum piping that terminates at the hardtop thus avoiding any pipework extending down the sides of the console or onto the deck. The result is a cleaner, more streamlined look without any pipe obstructing the view from the helm. The aft molded support legs with integrated ladders facilitates trips up and down the tower. Seating options include a second-row seating system with ladderback captain’s chairs at the helm and either captain’s chairs or bench seating for the second row. The system includes a slide out cooler, and a custom tackle center complete with a molded fold down rigging table. Alternatively, a captain’s edition oversized tackle center leaning post with bench or captain’s chairs can be fitted at the helm with an optional aft facing seat based on preference. Additional seating includes twin forward molded loungers with electrically actuated backrests that can fold flat for additional seating capacity.
The spacious aft cockpit area features twin port and starboard 40 gal. corner live wells with twin port and starboard 100 gal. fully insulated fish boxes to store your prized catch. Additional compartments include bilge access, port and starboard storage and a large 46” x 42” storage compartment on the center line of the vessel that can house the optional Seakeeper stabilizing system or upgraded to additional below deck live wells. The center piece at the bow is the large 161 gal. fully insulated fish box to safely store your largest catch. Port and starboard rod lockers allow for ample below deck lockable storage for valuable tackle or other gear. A 71 gal. dry storage compartment immediately aft of the fish box can be upgraded to a live well to serve the forward area of the boat as a complete fishing station independent of the aft cockpit area. The large anchor locker features a storage compartment for lines and fenders with option to incorporate a windlass / integrated roller anchor system.
The ingenious live well pump system, equipped with a sea chest and dual water pickups, keeps bait alive and healthy by virtually eliminating the aeration problem typically found with stepped hull boats. A dedicated transducer pad allows for flush mounting large commercially rated transducers that are capable of marking bottom in very deep water while underway.
Rod and tackle storage abound throughout the boat. Order a seemingly limitless amount of rod holders on the gunnel, console, hardtop, tower, transom and nearly anywhere else. The comprehensive tackle station neatly stores your gear and facilitates rigging while keeping everything neat and organized. Fresh and saltwater washdown systems, at the bow and stern, help to keep the boat tidy and expensive tackle sparkling clean.
The standard starboard hull side door helps make hauling in big catches a simple task, and the built-in dive ladder makes going in and out of the water easy and convenient. Add a second port side hull side door for maximum versatility and convenience on both sides of the boat.
Families will enjoy the numerous comfort and convenience features that can be found throughout the deck, cabin and helm of the boat. The console exterior extends forward to form a spacious lounge seat at the bow complete with built-in arm rests and drink holders. Additional seating includes the optional molded bow loungers with reclining head rests, second row forward facing seat arrangement or a relaxing aft facing center line seat.
The 420Z model is rigged in a triple or quad outboard engine configuration and can accommodate virtually any amount of horsepower. Each engine features its own fuel valve for greater assignment flexibility for the three fuel tank arrangement. . Optional bow thruster and joystick control system further enhances maneuverability for docking or tight quarters operation.
