Reese Fishing Expands Promotional Efforts adding Alton Jones Jr to its Pro Staff Roster

AUBURN, Calif. – January 6, 2025 – Recognized as one of the foremost promoters and visionaries in professional bass fishing, Skeet Reese, the 2024 Bass Fishing Hall of Fame inductee, continues to showcase his forward-thinking approach to business. In April 2024, Reese launched Reese Fishing, a company dedicated to producing premium fishing rods at exceptional value for consumers.

With a celebrated career that includes 12 major professional tour victories—most recently at the James River during the 2024 MLF Bass Pro Tour—alongside titles like the 2007 Bassmaster Angler of the Year and 2009 Bassmaster Classic Champion, Reese possesses the credibility and influence to effectively promote his brand. Yet, his long-term vision inspired him to collaborate with other anglers to expand Reese Fishing’s reach.

As part of this strategy, Reese Fishing has welcomed Major League Fishing BPT pro Alton Jones Jr., from Waco, Texas, to its pro staff. Jones, a three-time career winner, claimed a BPT victory at Lake Fork in 2022 and the 2023 Heavy Hitters Champion title. His impressive track record and dynamic promotional abilities align perfectly with Reese Fishing’s values.

Reese shared his admiration for Jones’s career progression:

“Junior has deep roots in the sport, having grown up in it,” said Reese. “I have always been impressed with how he approaches the water and the competition, and he handles his business off the water as well.”

He elaborated further, highlighting Jones’s attributes:

“Junior has proven himself as one of the hottest and most progressive young anglers out there, and he continues to deliver results. His work ethic in promotions, social media, and video content is equally impressive. His social media reach and his ability to connect with people make him a perfect fit for Reese Fishing, and I am thrilled to have him on the team.”

Jones expressed enthusiasm about joining Reese Fishing, especially for the opportunity to collaborate with Reese:

“Skeet is a true legend in professional bass fishing. I’ve watched him for years and looked up to him as a competitor,” said Jones. “Working with him through another sponsor, I was impressed by his business acumen and professionalism. When the opportunity arose to promote a growing brand from the ground up—and to learn from one of the best—I couldn’t pass it up.”

Jones emphasized that his decision wasn’t just about learning from Reese:
Reese Fishing NEXT 1

“He sent me some rods to test before I committed because I wanted to ensure they met my performance needs. I was blown away by the NEXT 1 series—they’re incredible rods with unbeatable value. But the soon-to-be-released NEXT 2 rods take it even further. From the grips to the handles and reel seats Skeet designed, they’re some of the most comfortable and durable rods I’ve ever used. Representing Reese Fishing and using these rods is an honor—they’re truly NEXT Level.”

In addition to representing Reese Fishing, Jones will also promote KastKing reels, which manufacture and market Reese’s Signature Reels.
