Nor-Tech Big Lauderdale Presence To Celebrate Mercury Racing – Speed on the Water

As the 50th anniversary of Mercury Racing is winding down, Nor-Tech Hi-Performance Boats is throwing a little party of its own, so to speak, for the Fond du Lac, Wis., high-performance engine company at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. When the show opens next Wednesday, October 25, the performance-oriented center console builder will have six boats on display showcasing the entire range of Mercury Racing outboards.

Nor-Tech is placing the spotlight on Mercury Racing power at the upcoming Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.

Inside the Fort Lauderdale Convention Center, Nor-Tech will display a 392 SportFish center console powered by quad Mercury Racing V-10 400R outboards. Alongside the 39-footer will be a 340 Sport center console with triple Mercury Racing 300R V-8 beasts.

At its traditional Bahia Mar in-water location, Nor-Tech will exhibit a 390 Sport Console with quad 400Rs and a 400SS with four V-8 500Rs. Both outboards were introduced earlier this year during Mercury Racing 50th anniversary celebrations, the first in Miami and the second in Charleston, S.C.

“With the 50th anniversary of Mercury Racing this year, we wanted to make sure their product was well represented in Fort Lauderdale,” said Trond Schou, who co-founded Nor-Tech with Nils Johnsen.

One of two Mercury Marine outboard-engine powered Nor-Techs to be showcased next week, this 500 Sport will be in the water at the Bahia Mar Marina.

The company will exhibit two Mercury Marine outboard-powered center consoles in Fort Lauderdale, a 450 Sport console with triple V-12 600-hp Verados and a 500 Sport—build No. 7 of the 14 currently ordered—with quad 600-hp Verados.
