Once a spirited girl riding horses on Panama City Beach, Fla., and running powerboats in the Gulf of Mexico waters beyond, Kruis Retherford has grit. Retherford is the owner of GSX/Glasstream Powerboats in Dothan, Ala., which makes her a woman in a decidedly male world. In fact, she is the only sole woman proprietor of a performance-oriented boat company in the country and she has built a solid brand.
