Garmin Honored Again For Advancing Marine Industry Innovation – Speed on the Water

Another year of Fall boat shows is coming to an end and another year of marine industry awards have been presented to Garmin Ltd., one of the world’s most innovative and recognized marine electronics manufacturers.

The Garmin team is always grateful for the recognition it receives at tradeshows such as IBEX.

According to a press release from the Switzerland-based technology brand with principal subsidiaries in the United States, the United Kingdom and Taiwan, the company recently was named the 2023 Most Innovative Company by Soundings Trade Only, an award that was announced at the International BoatBuilders’ Exhibition and Conference (IBEX) tradeshow held Oct. 3-5 in Tampa, Fla.

The publication’s annual award program recognizes companies that are transforming the marine industry though new products, technologies, sustainability, manufacturing processes, corporate responsibility and more. The company’s latest award followed last month’s Manufacturer of the Year honor, which recognized Garmin in the large manufacturer category for the ninth consecutive year by members of the National Marine Electronics Association (NMEA) at its annual conference and awards banquet held September 21 in Orlando.

“It’s a true honor to be recognized as the most innovative company in our industry,” said Jarrod Seymour, Garmin’s vice president and marine segment leader. “Innovation is a cornerstone at Garmin; it’s the driving force that propels us forward and creates value for our customers. From product development to marketing, workforce initiatives, manufacturing processes and beyond, innovation is the heart and soul of our company. I want to congratulate our entire team on this deserving honor that recognizes their dedication and hard work each and every day.”

Additionally, at the IBEX show in Tampa, Garmin’s new GPSMAP 9227 with BlueNet won an IBEX Innovation Award in the OEM electronics category. Impressed by its 4K resolution and dramatically faster processors, one judge lauded the GPSMAP 9227 as a quantum leap forward for marine navigation electronics.

Last but not least, Garmin also received a National Boating Safety Award from the Sea Tow Foundation for its efforts to promote boating safety, including promotion of National Safe Boating Week earlier this year.

“We are honored to have received these accolades for advancing innovation and safety in the marine industry and are proud to remain the world’s most innovative and recognized marine electronics manufacturer,” said Carly Hysell, an associate director of public relations for Garmin International.
