Donzi Establishing Domestic And International Dealer Network
Though Donzi Marine has several new models in the works at its Washington, N.C., headquarters according to Craig Barrie, who has been charged by company owner Fred Ross with reinventing the brand for the modern era, Barrie and Ross are keeping those releases mostly under wraps. “We are working on two brand-new models and three redesigned models,” Barrie said. “But that’s all I want to say for now.”
Barrie and his team also have been building a substantial network of Donzi dealers in addition to Big Thunder Marine, its flagship dealership at the Lake of the Ozarks in Central Missouri.
Counting Big Thunder, the nine dealers currently representing the brand are Oklahoma-based Freeman Marine Sales, Captain’s Choice and Complete Marine in Florida, Performance East of North Carolina, Horizon Motorsports in Arizona, Ocean Performance in Connecticut, Spencer Ship Monaco in Monte Carlo, Stax Performance Marine in Canada and Total Marine in New Jersey.
“And we are currently speaking with five other dealerships to round out our marketing program for 2023,” Barrie said. “Global acceptance of the brand needs to be supported by what we feel is the best dealer network.”
Ross emphasized the necessity of having the right dealers representing Donzi as it is being revitalized.
“We are working in a positive direction to bring what we can to market while maintaining the Donzi heritage and legacy,” Ross said. “It is very important for us to have the correct dealers in place, meaning those who have a strong sense and understanding of the brand.
“Knowledge of what Donzi is as a brand and follow-through, not just with sales but service, are what it’s all about,” he continued. “Let’s face it boaters, just want to go boating and have fun when work is done.”
