DCB To Showcase A Dozen Beauties During Shootout  Week

Between the Lake of the Ozarks Shootout and Super Cat Fest in Central Missouri, which runs concurrently with the top-speed contest approaching its 35th anniversary, late August is a big deal for the team at DCB Performance Marine, formerly DCB Performance Boats before its sale to customer Craig Hargreaves and move to Scottdale, Ariz. That’s particularly true this year given the buzz produced by the high-performance custom catamaran builder’s move from its former home in El Cajon, Calif., and the effort and energy it took to make the relocation happen.

Set to be on display again with the rest of the DCB Performance Marine fleet at the Camden at The Lake Resort, this M44 catamaran with Mercury Racing 1550/1350 engines ran 148-mph top speed during the 2022 Lake of the Ozarks Shootout with Southern California-based owner Mauricio Vivanco behind the wheel.. Despite that DCB is still coming on line at its new digs, the company will have a robust 12-boat display at the Camden At The Lake Resort, the home-base for Super Cat Fest set for August 25-27.

“It’s been a big year for DCB, no doubt about it,” said Jeff Johnston, the president of DCB. “But we wouldn’t miss the chance to support our family of customers and showcase our products at Super Cat Fest and the Lake of the Ozarks Shootout.”

The DCB display at the Camden At The Lake docks will feature five M37R outboard engine-powered catamarans. On the stern-drive engine-power side, the company with showcase the M44 above and an M41, two M35s and a trio of M31s.

Unveiled for the general public at the 1,000 Islands Charity Poker Run in Clayton, N.Y., earlier this month, the first DCB 37R with Mercury Racing 500R outboard engines will be on display during Shootout week in late August.

Just one question remains? Which boat—or boats—will DCB vice-president and 2023 Bob Morgan Memorial Lake of the Ozarks Shootout Hall of Fame inductee Tony Chiaramonte run on the three-quarter-mile course during the top-speed competition?

“I don’t know yet,” Chiaramonte said, then chuckled. “But I’m hoping for an M37R with Mercury Racing 500s.”
