Cigarette Showcases 52 Thunder For First Time At Miami Boat Show

In June 2023, Cigarette Racing Team introduced its new 52 Thunder center console at a private event in South Florida. Later that year, the 52-footer powered by six Mercury Racing 500R outboard engines was unveiled for the public at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.

But until today, the Opa-Locka, Fla., company hadn’t displayed the 52 Thunder at the Miami International Boat Show. The 52-foot beauty takes center stage this week in Cigarette’s Miami Convention Center display, which includes a new-for-2024 41 Fish center console based on at 41 Nighthawk console hull, a fiery 42X sportboat and a stunning 42 Nighthawk.

Even former NFL coaches with Super Bowl rings can be fans of the Cigarette brand.

As it tends to during the Miami, the Cigarette exhibit attracted a crowd of devoted fans of the brand and even a celebrity or two including NFL Super Bowl coach and now-broadcaster Jimmy Johnson.

The president of Cigarette Racing, Erik Christiansen said all the model segments in the company’s portfolio have strong representation this week in Miami.

Cigarette unveiled a new “hardcore fishing” boat in Miami today.

“The 41 Fish is set up and equipped for real fishing,” he explained. “The 52 Thunder here, though shown in Miami for the first time, is hull No. 3. The fourth one is head to Dubai for the Dubai Boat Show. The 42X on display is a nod to our sportboat heritage, and of course it is complemented by a 41 Nighthawk.

“We are going upscale with models such as our 52 Thunder, and yet trying to penetrate markets we have not traditionally been part of, like the hardcore fishing with the 41 Fish,” he continued. “For the 41 Fish, we talked to a lot of professional anglers from Mercury. And our naval architect is really into fishing, so he contributed as well.”
