–>
Owners of Sunsation Boats CCX center consoles and sportboats who want to spend a day on the water next month with other devoted fans of the Algonac, Mich., brand are running out of time to commit. Though there’s no fee to sign-up for what will be the first Sunsation event on Michigan’s Lake St. Clair in more than 10 years, registration for the Thursday, August 4 Sunsation Sun Run closes tonight at midnight.
So far, 65 Sunsation owners have registered for the daylong, multi-stop happening, which includes a raft-up. Registration has been capped at 100 boats.

The event will begin Wednesday, August 3, with a welcome party from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Sunsation headquarters.
“Our guys are excited to put the barbecue smoker to work for welcome party on Wednesday night and (company co-founder) Joe Schaldenbrand has been working on his vocals to sing our national anthem before Thursday’s run,” said Brad DiMaggio, Sunsation’s marketing manager. “Our whole staff is ready to host the event of the summer.”
Mercury Racing and speedonthewater.com are sponsoring the event, which is part of the company’s 40th anniversary celebration, as previously reported on the daily news site. For Sunsation owners who decide to stay another day, the organizers have planned a Friday lunch run to Pepper Joe’s in St. Clair, Mich.
Would-be participants can click here to sign up before midnight.
Editor’s note: Speedonthewater.com chief photographer Pete Boden and co-publisher Matt Trulio will be on scene to capture the action from the 2022 Sunsation Sun Run.
