BASS has announced the schedule for the 2025 Newport Bassmaster Kayak Series presented by Native Watercraft

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — B.A.S.S. has unveiled the highly anticipated schedule for the 2025 Newport Bassmaster Kayak Series presented by Native Watercraft. Featuring six stops across six states, the series showcases some of the nation’s premier fisheries, delivering thrilling opportunities for kayak anglers to compete at a national level.

“With the growth we’ve seen in the Bassmaster Kayak Series, we wanted to introduce venues that offer fresh challenges for our anglers while showcasing prime fishing conditions,” said Bassmaster Kayak Series Tournament Director Steve Owens. “This schedule includes several fisheries that are either new to national-level kayak tournaments or haven’t hosted one in years, providing anglers and fans with an exciting mix of destinations.”

A Commitment to Growth

The series, which has seen exponential growth in participation since its inception, is continuing its mission to expand the sport of kayak fishing. GL Compton, tournament manager for the B.A.S.S. Nation, noted, “The enthusiasm from anglers and fans alike has been incredible, and the 2025 schedule reflects our dedication to providing exceptional competitive opportunities.”


2025 Schedule Highlights

Jan. 18-19 — Lake Havasu, Havasu City, Ariz.

For the first time, the series will kick off at Lake Havasu, a renowned fishery straddling the California-Arizona border. Known for its scenic desert setting and healthy populations of smallmouth and largemouth bass, Lake Havasu promises to deliver exciting action for anglers in January.


Feb. 1-2 — Kissimmee Chain of Lakes, Kissimmee, Fla.

The series moves cross-country to the Kissimmee Chain of Lakes, a legendary bass fishery. With a history of producing record-breaking catches in Bassmaster tournaments, the Kissimmee Chain is expected to offer anglers a thrilling and competitive experience.

“We’re proud to host the Kayak Series in Kissimmee,” said Tyler Weyant of the Kissimmee Sports Commission. “Our community is committed to delivering an unforgettable event for participants and spectators alike.”


April 26-27 — Dale Hollow Reservoir, Byrdstown, Tenn.

Dale Hollow makes its Kayak Series debut in 2025. Renowned for its crystal-clear waters and plentiful bass, this reservoir offers a pristine backdrop for anglers seeking their next big catch.


May 31-June 1 — Lake Tenkiller, Cookson, Okla.

After hosting the 2024 Bassmaster Kayak Championship, Lake Tenkiller is set to challenge anglers again with its diverse fishery and scenic surroundings.


July 26-27 — Lake Champlain, Plattsburgh, N.Y.

Lake Champlain, a storied venue in other Bassmaster tournament series, welcomes Kayak Series anglers for the first time. Known for its exceptional smallmouth and largemouth bass fishing, Champlain is sure to be a highlight of the season.


Sept. 27-28 — Toledo Bend Reservoir, Hemphill, Texas

The season concludes at Toledo Bend, a powerhouse fishery that has consistently ranked among the top bass lakes in the country. With its reputation for producing trophy catches, Toledo Bend offers the perfect finale for the 2025 season.

Sabine County Judge Daryl Melton expressed excitement about the event, noting the area’s dedication to promoting kayaking and fishing through new infrastructure, including paddling trails and the upcoming Sabinetown Park tournament facility.
