Teasers Tour Kicks Off With Next Week’s Tiki Lee’s Fun Run
For the fourth straight year, Maryland Offshore Performance Marine Center owner Andy Imhof and his team are getting ready to embark on an extensive poker run tour in their canopied 36-foot Skater Powerboats catamaran thanks to their recurring Key West, Fla.-based sponsor, Teasers Gentleman’s Club. Dubbed the “Teasers Tour” since Maryland Offshore partnered with the popular Key West club in 2021, this year’s event showcase starts on Saturday, June 1, in Sparrows Point, Md., with the Tiki Lee’s Fun Run.

Imhof said on New Year’s Day he met with and received confirmation from Teasers owner Dave Johnson that the sponsorship deal was being renewed for 2024.
“I went down to Key West at the end of December to celebrate the New Year and I met with Dave and he said he was back on board,” said Imhof, who recently received the positive news that plans for a new 17,000-square-foot Maryland Offshore facility in Ijamsville was approved by the planning commission. “Dave told me he’s been very happy with the continued promotion as well as the turnout for the Thursday night party we host in Key West during the offshore world championship and the Florida Powerboat Club’s poker run. I think we had more than 1,000 people come through the club for our party last year.
“Plus we’ve been able to set up an outside bar during the raceboat parade on Friday—and that’s been a big success,” he added. “We can’t wait to see how everything comes together this year.”
First things first, Imhof said he needs to get his refreshed Mercury Racing 900SC engines that make about 1,100 horsepower aside (below) back into his 36-foot cat so he can make an appearance at next Saturday’s Tiki Lee’s Fun Run, which stops for lunch at Lee’s Landing before heading back to Tiki Lee’s for live music and giveaways.
“We just dyno’d the engines this week and they are good to go,” Imhof said. “We should be all set for the Tiki Lee’s Fun Run—we’re expecting a bunch of people to join us. It’s going to be a very fun year and we should have even more of our customers traveling with us, especially at the local events.”
In terms of close-to-home events, Maryland Offshore has several on its schedule, including the Rockin’ The Harbor Poker Run in Baltimore (June 21-23), the Tiki Lee’s Shootout On The River in Sparrows Point (July 18-21) and Thunder In The City in Chesapeake City (Aug. 2-4).
Imhof said he’s also planning to take a group to Clayton, N.Y., for a Maryland Offshore Fun Run over the Fourth of July weekend (July 4-7). Following the local summertime events, the 36-foot Skater is headed to Missouri for the Lake of the Ozarks Shootout (Aug. 21-25) and accompanying Shootout on the Strip presented by Waves and Wheels, a company Maryland Offshore collaborates with frequently.
A couple of weeks after the Shootout, the Teasers Tour will make another appearance at the Pirates of Lanier Poker Run (Sept. 12-15) on Georgia’s Lake Lanier. Last year, Imhof said his customers had a great time at the event that moved from July to September under its new lead organizer, Sheridan Bazemore.
As usual Imhof and company will close out the 2024 Teasers Tour in early November during the Key West Powerboat Week (Nov. 3-10) , a reference that many people in industry use to describe the Key West Poker Run and the Key West Offshore World Championship produced by Race World Offshore and sanctioned by the American Power Boat Association and the Union Internationale Motonautique.
“Between winning the Fastest On The River award at the Tiki Lee’s Shootout for the second year in a row and trying a couple of new events, 2023 was an excellent year for us as a whole,” Imhof said. “With Joe Erickson, Shane Jespersen, Bill Nohle and several others committed to attending quite a few events with us again this year, we’re expecting to have a lot of fun. At some of the events we’ll have up to 13 boats joining us. The best part is that we all get along so well; it’s like a big family.
“Of course, we’ll have the Teasers girls with us again,” he continued. “And we all know how much enthusiasm they bring to every event we attend.”
