Rock The Ohio River In 2025 With A High Bid In Key West In 2024
As the lead photographer for speedonthewater.com, Pete Boden has pointed us toward a lot of great events during the past 10-plus years. We had heard about the Boyne Thunder Poker Run in Northern Michigan, for example, but Boden in many ways—most of them photographic—propelled our coverage of the noteworthy event. Six or seven years ago, he returned with nothing but praise from the relatively new Kuttawa Cannonball Run in Kentucky. We have covered it consistently ever since.
Last year, we even co-produced a video capturing the event with our partners at Scrapyard Media.

Boden came through once again after shooting the Cincinnati-based Rock The River Fun Run in 2023, and in August this year I checked it out in person as part of the Cowboy & Indian Summer Tour article series. The event was a low-key, unpretentious gem full of great people. Even a Friday rainstorm wasn’t enough to dampen the Rock The River spirit. And the burger served during the lunch run that was simply massive.

Want to check it out next year while serving a great cause this year? Come to the Speed On The Water Key West Bash presented this year by Parallel Project on Thursday, November 7, and bid high at the charity auction benefitting the Key West-based Samuel’s House shelter and its supporting programs that evening. Thanks to brothers Pat and Matt Feldhaus and their friend and fellow organizer, Michael Caliguri, we’ll have a Rock The River Fun Run experience on the block that night.
The package includes event registration, an RV parking spot adjacent to the host venue, a YETI cooler with a cleaning kit, customized Rock The River Fun Run boarding mats and a hydraulic braking system.
The auction package includes several event-customized dock mats.
