Rinker Deckboat Is A Real Regatta Kicker

Rinker Deckboat Is A Real Regatta Kicker

Who in his right mind would outfit a well-traveled Rinker Flotilla deckboat with a big-dollar, 25,000-watt sound system likely worth more than the 26-footer itself? The answer is Jeff Cuvelier, the owner of Elite Audio in Lake Havasu City, Ariz., and he loaded the humble, 2004 model-year boat with Kicker Marine Audio components to showcase the Oklahoma-based stereo products brand in an aquatic marketing vehicle.

That made it outrageous enough to stand out among the go-fast catamarans and V-bottom in last weekend’s eighth annual River Dave’s Place All Boats Regatta, which attracted 67 entries. Cuvelier’s ride earned the event’s “Best Sound System award, which presented during the event’s Saturday night dinner celebration.

An aquatic marketing vehicle for Kicker Marine Audio and Elite Audio, Jeff Cuvelier’s Rinker deckboat stood out during last weekend’s RDP All Boats Regatta.

“We had no idea we were getting an award,” said Cuvelier. “There wasn’t a ‘stereo battle.’ They just picked us.

“The funniest thing, the thing we all laugh about?” he added, then chuckled. “It’s just a little Rinker deckboat, but it’s hard to miss.”

Some of that, of course, has to do with the deckboat’s Kicker Marine Audio-themed graphics, which were applied by Gator Wraps of Ontario, Calif. But most of it has to do with the solid wall of crisp, clean sound created by 32 speakers, 14 amplifiers and six subwoofers.

From bow to stern, the 26-footer is loaded with Kicker Marine Audio components.

Regatta season and more is just beginning on Lake Havasu, and it is the busiest time of year for the 26-footer. As an event sponsor, Cuvelier will bring the boat to this weekend’s Eliminator Boats Owners Regatta. (He also hopes to bring it to have it DCB Performance Boats Owners Regatta October 6-7, though that has not been confirmed.)

Next up on the boat’s events roster is the Monster Storm Poker Run, September 30 to October 2. Cuvelier also will run in December’s traditional Parade of Lights happening on the waterway. From there, he’ll haul it to the Specialty Equipment Manufacturers Association show better known simply as SEMA, November 1-4.

“It’s a busy time of year, but we’re always busy—we never stop,” he said. “And before we go to SEMA, I have to redo part of the boat and install Kicker Marine Audio’s new horn speakers.”
