Photo Gallery: Inside Nor-Tech’s ‘Five Star’ Café
Lest anyone at the Michelin Guide get his or her nose out of joint, Nor-Tech High-Performance Boats does not really have a Michelin-rated restaurant in its Cape Coral, Fla., rigging shop, or anywhere else on the planet for that matter. But that didn’t stop the company’s Trond Schou and his team from trying to recreate one in the facility—with a little help from AXR Napa Valley Wines, Gamble Family Vineyard and locally based Black Salt Culinary catering company— as part of a Southwest Florida Food A Wine Festival, a couple of weeks ago.

The Friday evening celebration raised was part on an effort that raised $2 million-plus for local charities through celebrations fine food and wine.
“We turned our rig shop into a dinner and dance party with fantastic food and terrific wine,” Schou. “Our favorite DJ, ‘Katie OX’ was spun the turn table, created a fun and vibrant atmosphere. Combined with electric violinist, well, you can imagine how much fun we had, while raising money for a wonderful cause.

“My partners Dave and Bill Raisbeck and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves,” he continued. “Our team put forth one heck of an effort and it showed. Participating as a host for this event was extremely rewarding and we look forward to continuing our philanthropic efforts for 2024.”
