As expected, the Lake of the Ozarks Shootout in Central Missouri hit a home run with last night’s massive Shootout On The Strip along Bagnell Dam Boulevard. In fact, this year’s event was the biggest one the event has ever hosted.

With the enthusiastic Charley (holding the sign) leading the way, the lovely Speed On The Water ladies raised nearly $1,200 for Ozarks Kat and K9 Shelter at the Shootout On The Strip during the Lake of the Ozarks Shootout. Photo by Pete Boden/Shoot 2 Thrill Pix.

Justin Wagner, who owns the Osage Beach-based Waves and Wheels and sponsored the Shootout On The Strip for the eighth straight year, said he was blown away by the turnout.

“Man what can I say?” Wagner asked as the massive event came to an end. “The crowds this year were incredible, and the boats that showed up were off the charts. There’s nothing else like this in the world.”

Waves and Wheels founder Justin Wagner has helped turn the Shootout On The Strip into one of the biggest and best gathering of performance boats in the world.

With more than 100 boats—representing all aspects of the powerboat industry from outboard-powered sport catamarans and massively powered offshore V-bottoms and catamarans to eye-popping pontoons and classic-looking runabouts—and tons of the coolest tow rigs on the planet parked along the boulevard, Wagner was not exaggerating.

Mark Waddington of Performance Boat Center, the title sponsor of the Lake of the Ozarks Shootout since 2014, agreed with Wagner.

“It was crowded on the strip last night, that’s for sure,” Waddington said on Thursday. “I don’t know if I’ve ever seen it that busy.”

Once again the lovely Speed On The Water ladies were well represented on the strip while raising money for a great cause. After walking Bagnell Dam Boulevard for about an hour, they ended up with nearly $1,200 in cash donations to contribute to the nonprofit Ozarks Kat and K9 Shelter in Sunrise Beach.

In pretty much every aspect—minus the set up and clean up—the annual Shootout On The Strip was a massive success, which means the rest of this week should be pretty spectacular.
