Nor-Tech Reflects On Giving And Gratitude At Year’s End

Headquartered in Fort Myers, Fla., Nor-Tech Hi-Performance Boats celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2021 by launching a new charitable initiative each month. Company principal Trond Schou and his team vowed to continue those efforts in 2022. But they had no idea their best opportunity for that would come in late September with Hurricane Ian, which leveled Fort Myers Beach and left much of Fort Myers, Cape Coral and other Southwest Florida cities with severe damage.

When Hurricane Ian devastated portions of Southwest Florida, the Nor-Tech team rose to the charitable occasion.

From immediate, in-house food and water collections to donating matching funds to the tune of $25,000—a healthy chunk of the $100,000-plus total raised—to the Cape Coral Caring Center food pantry and services operation, the Nor-Tech team began its charitable outreach efforts before its own production facilities were back on line.

This morning, Nor-Tech sent an email to its clients, vendors, dealers, subcontractors and more thanking them for their assistance in the aftermath of the natural disaster.

“Without your support this could have been a more difficult year due to Hurricane Ian,” the email read. “However, when our team rallied to ensure that everyone was safe and their basic needs met first there was still the determination to get Nor-Tech back up building boats. We could not have done so without our entire network of dealers, vendors, and clients that came to our aid as well.

“We are truly grateful for the opportunity to have been able to develop such lasting relationships,” the email continued. “The phone calls, text messages, pledges, and drop offs of goods was nothing short of inspiring. Thank you, on behalf of our entire staff.”
