A multi-time world champion, Harris is well known in the offshore powerboat racing community as a low-key Southern gentleman who let his performance on the racecourse speak for him. In the high-performance marine industry, Harris made his reputation as a “Fountain man.” He was among Fountain’s earliest employees and he actually helped company founder Reggie Fountain, Jr., lay up his first boat.
More recently, as in 2019, he returned to Fountain as its chief operating officer following the death of Joe Curran.
But you can read much of that on his resumé. In his “spare” time, Harris is a pilot and a true outdoorsman who takes hunting and fishing seriously. He’s also a devoted father of two grown children and a devout man of faith—one who by all accounts has a fine singing voice.
Harris also happens to possess a wonderful dry sense of humor. We’re talking arid.
