New Outerlimits SC 37 Going To First-Time Catamaran Owner – Speed on the Water
Based in Massachusetts, a longtime, privacy-loving Outerlimits Offshore Powerboats customer will soon have a new Outerlimits SC 37 catamaran to enjoy. Though the twin Mercury Racing 450R outboard engine-powered catamaran will be the ninth SC 37 built by the Bristol, R.I., company it will be a first for its owner.
Dan Kleitz water-tested the newest Outerlimits SC 37 catamaran for the first time yesterday.
“He’s always been a V-bottom guy,” said Dan Kleitz, the custom go-fast V-bottom and catamaran manufacturer’s national sales manager. “He’s never had a cat. But he’s going to love it.”
Thomas Kulesia, II, of No Coast Design in Elkhart, Ind., handled the carbon-fiber catamaran’s paintjob. To create the boat’s interior, Outerlimits turned to Ryan Schwarzen of Kutting Edge Interiors in O’Fallon, Mo. Interior features include a trio of Garmin GPS units, an RGB lighting system and a JL Audio sound system.
Kutting Edge took care of the cat’s interior.
Kleitz will deliver the latest SC 37 to its owner on a trailer from Evolution Trailer Technologies.
“Yesterday was the boat’s first time in the water and it ran like clockwork,” he said. “It was breezy and the water had a nice chop. Our boat is built to take on the rough water. It eats the chop right up for an outboard cat. I know our client will really enjoy that about it.”
Twin 450-hp outboard engines power the latest 37-foot Outerlimits catamaran.
