MTI At 25: Five-Engine MTI-V 50 Takes The Spotlight – Speed on the Water

When it comes to stalwart MTI customers, Jake Nossaman is about as devoted as they come. The loyal, warm-hearted Oklahoman, who is a regular at MTI-hosted fun runs in the Florida Keys and beyond, has owned multiple inboard- and outboard-powered catamarans from the Wentzville, Mo., builder and has also purchased a few center consoles from MTI owner Randy Scism and his team.

In fact, Nossaman was the proud owner of the second MTI V-50 luxury performance center console from the builder—the same one that stood out as the “Spotlight” boat in the Speed On The Water 2021 Year In Review magazine that can be ordered here. The 50-footer, which was powered by five Mercury Racing 450R outboard engines painted to match the boat’s gorgeous graphics, was featured on the three-page fold-out spread (see below) and also one of four boats included on the cover of the annual publication.

Thanks to its five engines and an incredible list of options, the boat was a relatively easy choice for the Spotlight profile (and a great fit for this week’s MTI At 25 article). It helped that the boat’s owner, who took delivery in June of 2021—just in time to run to The Bahamas with a group that included MTI principal Randy Scism and several other friends—and showed off the 50-foot center console a couple of months later a little closer to home at the Texoma Throw Down on Lake Texoma, is an easy-going guy who uses his boats as often as he can.

At the moment, Nossaman owns a 48-foot cat from MTI with twin Mercury Racing 1100 engines and said his MTI-V 50 is listed for sale through the team at MTI. He added that he’s been impressed with the five-engine 50-footer from the day he took delivery, but that it’s time for his Spotlight boat to find a new home.

So, to whomever ends up with the MTI-V 50, feel free to reach out and we’ll get you a copy of the 2021 Year In Review.
