Everything Boating
Already backing Tyler and Lindsey Miler’s Class 1 offshore powerboat racing team, Monster Energy is getting into the aquatic top-speed event-sponsorship realm. The Southern California-based beverage company has signed up to be the presenting sponsor for the 2024 Lake of the Ozarks Shootout in Central Missouri, which is set for August 20-25.

Nationally recognized presenting sponsors from outside the marine industry have been few and far between in the history of the event, which will celebrate its 36th anniversary this year. Budweiser took on the role for several years, but with when parent-company Anheuser-Busch was sold in to InBev in 2008 the new company soon pulled out of motorsports sponsorships.
That makes this year’s agreement between Monster Energy and the Lake of the Ozarks a significant development.
“Just as the event grew with Budweiser in the Shootout’s infant stages while hosted at the iconic and unforgettable Shooters 21—and has since evolved into what it is today at Captain Ron’s with the unwavering support of Performance Boat Center—we have the utmost faith that Monster Energy will unleash the next era of the Shootout,” said Leah Martin, the executive director of the Lake of the Ozarks Shootout, in a press release issued this morning.
Added Monster Energy president Mark Hall in the release, “High-speed, high-horsepower offshore race boats roaring across the Lake of the Ozarks in this nation’s heartland. Speeds and high-performance that actually rival NASCAR. And now, a hyped-up crowd powered by Monster Energy. It all just adds up.”
