Langheims To Stay In Offshore Racing Despite Listing Jackhammer Raceboat For Sale – Speed on the Water
The week’s news of Jackhammer, a 32-foot Victory catamaran that claimed 2022 Super Stock-class American Power Boat Association National Championship in 2022 and is well-positioned to defend that title this season, being for sale spread quickly across the offshore racing community and raised immediate questions.

The most obvious one?
Is the successful team owned by Reese and Sara Langheim exiting the sport? Not so, said Reese Langheim.
“We aren’t bailing,” he explained. “We are going to stay racing. We have three boats at our shop. We just have to get one rigged.”
Added his wife, “Racing is such a family thing between all the teams. We will still be racing.”
As for whether they will stick with the Super Stock class or move into another category, the couple declined to elaborate.
“Honesty, we have no plans for sure on anything,” Sara Langheim explained. “But if we’re going to sell the boat, now is the time—she’s proven how hard she can run and how competitive she can be. If I had my way, we would retire her when it’s time and turn her into a pleasure-boat so she stays in our family. That boat has so much sentimental value to me.”
