Key West Offshore World Championships At 72 Teams

If every team registered so far for the Race World Offshore Key West Offshore World Championships makes it to this afternoon’s parade, the line of raceboats creeping down Duval Street is going to be long. Current registration stands at 72 boats.

Offshore racing team schedules don’t always align with race-organizer plans, so it’s unlikely that every team will make the parade. Still, the current total of entries for the Key West Worlds themselves is on par with last year’s robust 73-boat count.

The Super Stock class will, as usual, field the largest single-category fleet with 13 boats registered. Mod V class has nine boats registered, followed by eight boats in the Super Cat class and six boats in Class 1. At it did for several races during the regular season, the Super V class has three boats registered.

Spread across six classes, the Bracket group has 24 teams signed up. Bracket 500 leads the charge with seven boats, followed by Bracket 700 with six boats.

The three-day Key West Worlds format has races on Wednesday, November 6, Friday, November 8, and Sunday, November 10.
