Joey Imprescia Celebration Of Life Set For February 18

Though he played his professional roles—from offshore racing throttleman par excellence to rigging-and-set-up wizard—impeccably during his career in the high-performance marine industry—Joey Imprescia saved his greatest performances for his personal life. As a husband, father and friend, he was, by accounts of those who knew him, a true champion.

Imprescia’s son, Nick, described him as “the wrench who put my soul together.” Photo courtesy of the Imprescia family.
And next week in his native New York, those who knew him best will celebrate the man, who died last week at age 67. A celebration of life event, “Remembering Joey” will be held February 18 at the Massapequa Funeral House South Chapel at 4980 Merrick Road.
The celebration runs from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Though it requires no RSVP, it does have a dress code. Per Imprescia’s favorite “uniform”—blues jean and a black shirt—or a race jersey—are requested.
