Jackhammer Team Sells Super Stock Raceboat

With a 39-foot canopied catamaran under construction for offshore racing’s 500R Factory Stock class this season, the Super Stock-class Jackhammer team has not decided if it will continue competing in the class in 2025. But one thing is certain for team owner/driver Reese Langheim and throttleman Julian Maldonado: If they do race return to Super Stock ranks to defend their 2024 National Championship, it won’t be in their familiar 32-foot Victory catamaran.

That boat has been sold to Canadian Dale McEachern.

“We have a new Super Stock boat—a 32 Victory—ready to go but were are still on the fence about racing in that class this season,” said Maldonado, who co-owns Manatee Marine Unlimited in Palmetto, Fla., with Sara Langheim. “But we are definitely going to run in 500R.”

The Jackhammer team has two national championships and one world championship to its credit in the Super Stock class.

As previously reported, American Marine Performance of Pompano Beach, Fla., is building a 39-foot catamaran for the Jackhammer team’s 500R Factory Stock campaign. Maldonado estimated that the canopied catamaran should arrive at Manatee Marine in three to four weeks.

For the Langheims and the Maldonados, captured here with new Jackhammer raceboat owner Dale McEachern offshore racing is a family endeavor.

“It’s going to be close for the Cocoa Beach (Fla.) season-opener, but it will be all hands on deck when the boat gets here,” said Maldonado.

The Jackhammer team entered the Super Stock ranks in 2018. Its accomplishments include a world championship in 2023—the team finished second overall behind Team Allen the following—and its first national championship in 2022.
