Guide Spotlight: Captain Isaiah Michael of Reel Finesser Fishing Charters
We have been hearing about Isaiah Michael for a while, this young guide up around St. Augustine/New Smyrna who is just on fire. Then I came across his Instagram and was blown away by what I saw — photo after photo of giant bull reds, huge snook and jumbo drum. It was instantly apparent we needed to see for ourselves. One night on the water with “Reel Finesser” and his spotlight was locked.

HOW DID YOU GET STARTED? As a kid, I can remember waking up at my grandparents’ house running out to the backyard to toss a line into Tampa Bay. That is what got me hooked. Now, 24 years later, I share my fishing passion with others. I couldn’t see myself doing anything else.
HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN GUIDING IN YOUR AREA? I’ve been a fishing guide for the last two years. I’ve been fishing the east coast of Florida for the last 24 years.
CLAIM TO FAME: Big bull reds over slot snook and giant tarpon on fly or spinning reel.

SEASONALITY (WHAT DO YOU TARGET AND WHEN): I target big bull redfish all year-round. They seem to not mind the cooler weather we have up here in the winter months in north Florida. I also target big snook and tarpon in the spring/summer months.
