Formula Boats Announces New 457 Center Console – Speed on the Water
Thanks to the Decatur, Ind., company’s successful re-entry into the offshore center console market last year with its well-received 387 Sport and Fish center consoles, Formula Boats has announced that it is building new 45-foot center console models that also are going to be available in Sport and Fish editions.

According to a press release, Formula is announcing the new 457 Center Console Fish and Sport models at the upcoming Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show and (October 25-29) and plans to debut the boats at the 2024 Miami International Boat Show (February 14-18). The new boats, according to Scott Smith, Formula’s marketing manager, push the boundaries of design, engineering and construction in the offshore center console segment, emphasizing the finish and amenities of Formula’s renewed entry into the center console segment.
“Everyone says their new model is a game-changer, so we’ll say it too: The Formula 457 Center Console Fish and Sport models are going to be game-changers,” Smith said in a recent email to media and business partners. “Unmistakably a Formula from near or afar, the 457’s bloodline is evident in its looks, performance, amenities, engineering and fit and finish. This model is destined to set itself apart in its class, and we cannot wait to show it off.”
While the debut of the 457 is slated for the 2024 Miami International Boat Show, Formula is going to have a detailed model ready in Fort Lauderdale later this month. At 45 feet, 7 inches long with a 13-foot, 9-inch beam, the Formula 457, which is going to be powered by triple Mercury Marine V-12 Verado 600 outboard engines, is likely to impress all comers.
Formula decided to go bigger by adding the new 457 Fish and Sport Center Consoles to its lineup.
Built to an individual boater’s preference, from upscale cruising to hard-core fishing, or a little of both, the 457 is expected to pair up well with any boating style. Customers can opt for a sculpted aft lounge and spacious swim platform for sporting adventures or foldaway aft seating and pressurized baitwells for a fishing battlewagon. They also can choose between the entertainment-ready cockpit galley or a bait station/wet bar to suit their needs.
With three 22-inch displays across the dash and an air-conditioned three-position helm—air conditioning can be added to the second row and aft-facing seating for total crew comfort—the helm station is fully loaded with everything a captain needs. High-styled bow seating with an elevated sun lounge and wraparound seating with a power-adjust table should provide great use of the space up front.
Below, the cabin offers six feet, six inches of headroom and a full aircraft galley with microwave, fridge, sink and abundant counter and cabinet space, as well as U-lounge seating with a table for dining or entertaining that converts into a two-person berth. A well-appointed, spacious head features a separate, stand-up shower.
If you’re headed to FLIBS later this month, be sure to check out the model of the game-changing 457 center consoles before anyone gets a chance to climb aboard a 457 next year at the Miami International Boat Show.
