Florida Powerboat Club/Speed On The Water Miami Boat Show Bash Returning – Speed on the Water
With Nor-Tech Hi-Performance Boats as its presenting sponsor and GSX/Glasstream Powerboats taking the primary supporting sponsor role, the Florida Powerboat Club/Speed On The Water Miami Boat Show Bash returns Thursday, February 15, to the Sagamore Hotel. The second-year event will be open to Florida Powerboat Club members in good standing as well as invited guests of the event sponsors and organizers.
Having enjoyed the 2023 Florida Powerboat Club/Speed On The Water Miami Boat Show Bash, GSX/Glasstream Powerboats owner Kruis Retherford (center) was eager to help sponsor the 2024 event.
“Having the Miami International Boat Show back at the Miami Beach Convention Center made this opportunity worth pursuing last year, but I would never have done it without my partnership with Speed On The Water,” said Stu Jones, the president and founder of the Florida Powerboat Club. “Together we are able to recruit a fun crowd, and some very highly respected members of the high-performance marine industry for a fun reunion at a landmark venue that is just steps from the show.
“I’m very happy continue bringing our high-performance marine industry peers together for another Miami Boat Show party in the heart of South Beach,” he added.
Additional supporting backers of the event include Stephen Miles Design, Wozencraft Insurance and Waves And Wheels.
In addition to entertaining guests at the historic South Beach hotel, the Florida Powerboat Club/Speed On The Water Miami Boat Show Bash will raise money for a yet-to-be-selected local charity.
With the Miami Boat Show Bash, the Florida Powerboat Club and Speed On The Water have created a social focal point for their guests.
“Anytime you involve Nor-Tech in an event you’re going to need a charitable element—that’s just part of who they are,” said Matt Trulio, the co-publisher and founder of speedonthewater.com. “When I told Kruis Retherford at GSX/Glasstream that charity would be part of the deal, she was all in. We will work together to find the right local nonprofit outfit to help support.”
Trulio paused, then laughed.
“And I promise to stay till the end of the party this year,” he said. “This time I don’t have a 6 a.m. flight the following morning. So I guess I’m getting smarter.”
Sponsorship opportunities for the 2024 Florida Powerboat Club/Speed On The Water Miami Boat Show Bash are still available. Please contact Stu Jones at the Florida Powerboat Club or Matt Trulio at speedonthewater.com for more information.
