Florida Powerboat Club 2024 Season-Opener To Pull Double Duty
If you’ve watched the recent “In The Lead With Stu Jones” video produced by Speed On The Water and Scrapyard Media, you know that the Florida Powerboat Club founder and president has added management personnel so he and his wife, Jackie, can start to step back from day-to-day operations. Set for January 26-28, the club’s Winter Poker Run to Key Largo will provide a dry-run of sorts for the new management regime—and perhaps a glimpse into the future.

“I think it’ll be a nice start to 2024 for my new managers, John Wittenberger and Amy Plumstead,” said Jones. “Both of them will be on site, so I think it’s a good opportunity for them to meet some more of our FPC members get to know them in an intimate setting.”
So far, 26 Florida Powerboat Club members have registered for what will be the first event of the organization’s 2024 season. Capacity is limited to 30 boats—at best.
“That’s about all the teams we can take at the Playa Largo Resort, which puts us just on par with our expectations for the Winter Poker Run,” Jones explained. “We just ran out of room so it’s going to be difficult to make it much bigger.”
Asked what his role will be during the club’s season-opener, Jones chuckled.
“Jackie and I will attend,” he said. “But we are going to pretend like we are participants.”
