Featured Boats: Stand Or Sit—Outerlimits 2020 SL 50 And 2017 SV 50 – Speed on the Water
Per the name of the department, we’ve focused on a single “Featured Boat” since we added the spotlight-category many years ago. But Dan Kleitz, the national sales manager for Outerlimits Offshore Powerboats, called yesterday and suggested we showcase a pair of the Bristol, R.I., company’s 50-footers for sale—both pre-owned—with different cockpit configurations.
For those who like to stand when they go boating, Outerlimits is offering a pre-owned 2020 model-year SL 50.
“After all, we’re the only company that can can offer both cockpit styles in a 50-foot bottom,” said Kleitz, who’s never been shy about touting the brand he’s worked for since his college days. “Both are turnkey and ready to go fast.”
We liked the idea. So here goes.
A 2020 model, the stand-up cockpit SL 50 is powered by Mercury Racing 1350/1100 engines with 10 operating hours since their last refreshment, according to Kleitz. Price is $949,000.
With a sit-down cockpit, the 2017 model-year SV 50 is powered by Mercury Racing 1350/1550 engines. According to Kleitz, then engines have 12 operating hours since their last refreshment. Price is $849,000.
For those who prefer to sit when they go boating, Outerlimits is offering a pre-owned 2017 model-year SV 50.
Both boats were painted by Stephen Miles Design of Owensboro, Ky. Both come with trailers.
