DCB M37R Catamaran Headed To Stephen Miles Design For Paint – Speed on the Water

Stephen Miles has a way to go before he reaches his stated goal of “painting everything” in the high-performance powerboat world. Then again, Miles has already designed paintwork for a private jet and a yacht for the same discerning client. But he’s about to move one step closer to that goal as the latest DCB Performance Marine M37R catamaran is on its way to the Stephen Miles Design shop in Owensboro, Ky., via Outlaw Transport.

This DCB M37R catamaran will soon be in the paint booth at Stephen Miles Design.

Once painted by Miles and his crew, the cat will be hauled back to DCB headquarters in Phoenix for interior installation and rigging of its Mercury Racing 500R outboard engines. And then it will be delivered to owner Bryce Menzies, a world champion professional Trophy Truck racer.

Menzies’ cat will be the first M37R to be painted. Graphics for all 37-footers to this point have been handled via gelcoat by the DCB team.

Stephen Miles produced the most recent rendering of his design for Menzies’ M37R catamaran from DCB today.

“We’re pretty stoked how it all came about,” said Tony Chiaramonte of DCB. “Bryce asked if his boat could be the first M37R with external paint and we said yes. He was all in with Stephen Miles, so we called Stephen and here we are.

“We can’t wait to see the finished product,” he added.

Miles is equally if not more thrilled with the opportunity.

“It’s another dream come true when I thought all of my dreams had already come true,” he said. “Traveling to poker runs through the years, Jeff Johnston and Tony Chiaramonte of DCB have always stood out in my top-fiv list of industry favorites. Add to that the paintjob is for a super-cool guy who just won the Baja 1000 and the whole thing is just incredible.

“Jeff Murray from Outlaw Transport just called me and said the boat will arrive tomorrow morning,” he added. “I can’t wait.”

On the road to Stephen Miles Design, the 37-footer will be the first from DCB to be painted.
