CTS Custom Trailers Delivers Six Offshore Racing Trailers In Nine Months
With six new trailer deliveries since the beginning of the 2023 offshore racing season and another five orders in the milling circle, if you will, Iowa-based CTS Custom Trailers is solidifying its position as a go-to trailer for elite boat racing teams.

CTS issued a press release this morning to celebrate the company milestone, as well as tout recent achievements and partnerships such as the 55-foot Valhalla trailer featuring triple 20K dually axles and several tilt trailer deliveries for catamarans from DCB, Doug Wright Powerboats/Waves and Wheels, MTI, Mystic Powerboats and Performance Powerboats.
According to Jon Smiley, vice president of sales for the company, in the past nine months CTS Custom Trailers has proudly delivered six custom trailers to prominent names in the offshore racing community. That’s on top trailers for manufacturers from Nor-Tech Hi-Performance Boats, Sea Hunter Boats and Deep Impact Custom Boats to Sunsation Powerboats, Front Runner Boats and American Marine Performance.
In the release, Smiley highlighted the six raceboat trailers and provided an explanation for each trailer. Here’s what he had to say.
151 Offshore Express – 39-foot MTI catamaran
“The team delivered a state-of-the-art tilt trailer for 151 Offshore Express’ MTI 390XR, demonstrating CTS’ commitment to meeting the unique requirements of each racing vessel.”
Vision Marine Technologies Inc. – 32-foot S2 Power Boats catamaran
“CTS completed a trailer for S2 Power Boats’ 32’ masterpiece that debuted alongside Vision Marine with electric outboards (at the Lake of the Ozarks Shootout in Central Missouri).”
XINSURANCE – 48-foot MTI catamaran
“CTS also joined the XINSURANCE racing fleet by delivering a precision-crafted trailer for its 48′ MTI raceboat with a custom decked walkway incorporated into the bunk arrangement.”

JBS Offshore Racing – 46-foot Skater Powerboats catamaran
“CTS Custom Trailers provided a flat trailer for JBS Offshore Racing’s impressive 46′ Skater, showcasing precision engineering and quality craftsmanship. An additional hydraulic tilt trailer is currently in the works for this well-established racing team.”
NMBRVResort.com Racing – 30-foot Lilly Sport Boats/Extreme V-bottom
“CTS Custom Trailers recently debuted its first Swing Drive Guard optioned trailer for Lilly Sport Boat and NMBRVResort.com Racing’s new 30′ enclosed cockpit race boat.”
Along with the second trailer he mentioned CTS is building for JBS, Smiley added that he’s excited to announce upcoming builds for the following teams: Princeton Electric Speedboating, Rufstr Racing, Tuff Marine and Central Power & Rigging.
Smiley also wanted to extend gratitude to CTS Custom Trailers’ partners in offshore racing.
