Nor-Tech Breezing Into Miami With Display And Demos After Banner Year

Before 2024 played out, Nor-Tech Hi-Performance Boats had released its long-anticipated quad-outboard-engine sport catamaran and delivered 390 Sport center console No. 500 to Florida Powerboat Club head Stu Jones. Even a pair of back-to-back hurricanes weren’t enough to knock the Cape Coral, Fla., company off its game as last year Nor-Tech delivered the most builds in its 35-year history.

Now the high-performance boat-builder, which is celebrating that milestone anniversary this year, is gearing up for the 2025 Miami International Boat Show February 12-16, and company co-founder and chief executive officer Trond Schou is ready to get the party started.

“I could not be prouder of our team,” said Schou. “They have overcome numerous obstacles throughout the year, yet somehow they managed to produce a record number of boats.”

The scene for the company’s traditional Wednesday evening customer-appreciation event during the show, Nor-Tech’s exhibit inside the Miami Convention Center will boast a recently delivered 450 Sport center console equipped with quad 500R Mercury Racing outboards and a 4000 Supercat powered by four of the same 500-hp V-8s from the Fond du Lac, Wis., company.

Nor-Tech also will have a 4000 Supercat and a 392 SuperFish center console—with quad 400R V-10 outboards—at Grove Harbour Marine in Coconut Grove available by appointment for demo rides Wednesday through Saturday.

Nor-Tech will have two 40-foot catamarans—one in the Miami Convention Center and another available for demos by appointment at Grove Harbour Marina—at the Miami event.

“Due to the overwhelming success of the 4000 Supercat at the 2024 Fort Lauderdale show, we decided to exhibit a couple of those in Miami as well, one inside the convention center and one on the water available for sea trials,” Schou explained. “There is no doubt that the creature comforts of this catamaran, along with the quad 500-hp outboard setup, played a major role in the decision-making for the clients who jumped in and ordered one right away.”

Like the rest of the Nor-Tech team, Schou is looking forward to celebrating the company’s loyal customers, dealers and vendors at the Wednesday night party. The fun starts a 6 p.m.

“Not only do we have an amazing team of employees at Nor-Tech, but we also have terrific partners,” said Schou. “This party is truly in honor of our loyal clientele. It’s a way for the Nor-Tech team, along with Mercury Racing, Garmin, Lumishore, JL Audio, Advanced Marine Glass, and Composites One and our many more partners to say, ‘Thank you for believing in our brand and continuing to buy our boats.’

“We have the wind at our back heading into 2025,” he added.
