Sponsored by Headwaters Adventure Company and Tackle Warehouse, the two-day event on September 28-29 featured an impressive $7,675 on the line, ensuring that every angler went home with a payout.
Joseph Silva Claims Victory with a Massive 186.75″ Total
For his victory, Silva walked away with a coveted Old Town PDL 106 kayak, valued at $2,599. Silva, known for his mastery of forward-facing sonar, found success by targeting fish in deeper waters, as much as 45 feet down, using a flutter spoon. His strategy paid off on Day 2, where he landed a 97” bag, allowing him to surge to the top of the leaderboard.
Reed Frazier Lands the First Double-Digit Bass in BAM Kayak History
Reed Frazier proved his skill at targeting big bass by securing second place with a total of 183.00”. Even more remarkable, Reed landed the event’s Big Fish—a massive 25.75” bass, the first double-digit catch in BAM Kayak Series history. Utilizing forward-facing sonar, Frazier caught the giant bass in shallower water, casting a Sakamata Shad into a school of baitfish. His prize package included a Power Pole Micro, valued at $599, along with $150 cash, $50 in Tackle Warehouse gift cards, and a kayak cart.
Matthew Brannon Rounds Out the Top 3 with Consistent Results
Matthew Brannon completed the top three with a total of 180.25”. Like his fellow top finishers, Brannon had to adapt to changing conditions, targeting schools of feeding fish amidst bait-filled waters. His steady performance earned him a Power Pole Micro and $100 cash, capping off a stellar tournament run.
