XINSURANCE To Back Thunder On Cocoa Beach As Presenting Sponsor

The 2025 offshore powerboat racing season-opener, Thunder On Cocoa Beach has a new presenting sponsor thanks to a five-year deal with XINSURANCE of Sandy, Utah. The annual event under current leadership on Florida’s Atlantic shore is set for May 15-18.

“We are excited to enter into a five-year agreement as the presenting sponsor of Thunder on Cocoa Beach,” Rick J. Lindsey of XINSURANCE said. “The agreement kicks in with the races taking place a month from now, and the entire XINSURANCE team is thrilled to hoist our banner with the best crew in offshore racing ready to put on a show both on and off the water.”

As previously reported, the public conflict in November 2024 between Powerboat P1 and the specialty insurer over video coverage rights for the Thunder On Cocoa Beach event was resolved in early December. The agreement between the two entities paved the way for the new agreement.

“We are very excited to have XINSURANCE as one of our presenting sponsors and “I Am A Freedom Fighter,” which is our primary benefitting charity,” said Kerry Bartlett, the executive race director for Thunder On Cocoa Beach.

Based in Atlantic-coast Florida city, “I Am A Freedom Fighter” is a nonprofit organization battling human trafficking through raising awareness about the issue. The outfit is run by founder Jenny Pruett, the wife of Thunder On Cocoa beach organizing committee-member Kevin Pruett.

Not only is XINSURANCE the presenting sponsor for the Cocoa Beach affair starting this season, the company is the title sponsor for the XINSURANCE Offshore races on the Lake of the Ozarks in Central Missouri and the XINSURNANCE Great Lakes Grand Prix on Lake Michigan in Indiana. In addition to the XINSURANCE North and South teams in the Pro Class 1 category, the company sponsors multiple teams across several Spec- and Bracket classes.

“We look forward to working with XINSURANCE group, especially as local racer and businessman J.J. Turk and Nick Buis of Statement Marine across the state in St. Petersburg will be racing for the Pro Class 1 XINSURANCE North team in Cocoa Beach this year,” Bartlett added.
