West Michigan Offshore Seeking Board Nominations
Like most nonprofit, charity-oriented high-performance powerboating clubs, West Michigan Offshore is headed by volunteers. And as it is with all such clubs, leadership changes happen based not only on set terms of service but on the availability of those who serve.

Case in point? West Michigan Offshore has opened nominations to current members for board-of-director positions. Nominations will close April 30. Voting opens May 15 to all current members and will close May 25.
Would-be board members can be nominated by others in the club or can self-nominate. Board positions are for four years, according to a press release from West Michigan Offshore. Two board positions are open and a maximum of six candidates will be on the ballot.
Following the election, the existing board and its newly elected members “will meet to discuss roles, deliberate, and arrive at the board member roles.” Club officer roles include president, vice-president and membership chair, business manager, chief financial officer and marketing director.
