Waves and Wheels Excited To Start New Doug Wright 42 Carbon – Speed on the Water
Justin Wagner, the founder of Waves and Wheels in Osage Beach, Mo., was a busy man last week. Not only did he and his team get their hands on their first 42-foot bare hull catamaran from the Melbourne, Fla.-based Doug Wright Powerboats just in time to show it off at the Shootout On The Strip during the Lake of the Ozarks Shootout, Wagner also released a new video on the first Doug Wright 36 Carbon Waves and Wheels edition a few days after returning from an event in Dallas where his stunning wife, Cicely, won the Hair Color Shot of the Year at the BehindtheChair.com Big Shot awards show.

“Cicely’s most important show of the year is always right around Shootout week, which as you know is a big week for us and everyone else at the lake,” said Wagner, whose company has been presenting sponsor of the Shootout on the Strip for several years, and announced it was becoming a Doug Wright dealer during the 2022 event. “I was fortunate to be able to go with her this year and make it back in time to get ready for Shootout week and take delivery of our first 42 Carbon.
“We are super excited to get started on the Doug Wright, especially after delivering our first 36 Carbon,” he continued, adding that he’s had conversations with several potential buyers interested in the 42. “Our goal is to build the finest 42-foot cat on the water. As the Midwest dealer for Doug Wright, we also have two 39-foot cats in different stages of production.”
Although the boat looked like it was in the early stages of production and close to being ready for paint, the 42-footer had a pair of Mercury Racing 500R engines on its transom and a list of on-lookers drooling over the potential of the blank canvas sitting on a new trailer from CTS Custom Trailers in Iowa.
Wagner said the reaction to the new 42 Carbon during the Shootout on the Strip was overwhelmingly positive, especially from those who had already seen the finished 36 Carbon that he delivered out West to customers Jerry and Andrea Olsen in early August. While he would have liked to also showcase the new 36-footer on Bagnell Dam Boulevard, he understood why the Olsens wanted to keep the boat in Lake Havasu City, Ariz., and not haul it back to Lake of the Ozarks for the event.
Fortunately Waves and Wheels, which sponsors the Doug Wright Powerboats factory entry in offshore racing’s 450R Factory Stock class, was able to show off the 36-footer for the Shootout fans on a TV looping a new the company’s latest video highlighting the features of the 36 Carbon Waves and Wheels edition.
