There is only one way to guarantee that your boat makes it into the 2024 Speed On The Water Year In Review issue. Go to the 11th annual Speed On The Water Key West Bash on Thursday night, November 7, at the Pickles Pub’s Sandbar, party like the rock star you are and bid high on a new live auction item that will get your boat its own page in the 10th annual, oversized 212-page collectible issue.

How much is it worth? Editorial pages in Year In Review are not for sale and never will be. So draw your own conclusion.
Here’s what you need if you want to bid. First, your boat has to be in Key West during the Race World Offshore World Championship and Florida Powerboat Club Key West Poker Run. Second, you need deep pockets because this item—one of a dozen to be auctioned by Ferris—will command big bucks.
All of the proceeds from the auction, which once again will be led by the one and only Nolan Ferris, go to Samuel’s House, a Key West-based shelter for women and intact families.
The winning bidder will be invited to a Saturday morning helicopter photo shoot two days later in Key West Harbor. Lensman Pete Boden will handle the images. Speedonthewater.com co-publisher Jason Johnson and I will handle the words.
And come January when the most special Year In Review issue to date ships to readers around the country (and the world), your baby will be featured with its own full-page story and photos in the magazine’s Boats section.
The winner also will receive a plaque of the feature from That’s Great News and a metal print of an image selected by the owner displayed at his or her home.
