Valder Yachts/Pro Floors Out For Clearwater – Speed on the Water
In preparation for a dedicated run at the 2023 Super Cat-class title at the three-race Key West Offshore World Championships produced by Race World Offshore, the Valder Yachts/Pro Floors Racing team has officially withdrawn from the Clearwater ‘Nationals’ this weekend in Southwest Florida.
The team, which is owned by New Zealand’s Wayne Valder, announced its decision this morning via social media.

“Over the weekend, our team had a serious discussion about the Clearwater race and our preparation for the quickly approaching Key West races,” the post read. “As we have said many times throughout the season, our main focus this year has always been the World Championships. In light of that fact, we have come to the decision to withdraw from the Clearwater race so that our engine builder and crew have adequate time and resources to prepare our MTI catamaran for the Key West World Championships in November.
“We apologize to anyone who has made plans to come see us in Clearwater, and hope that you will understand our overall plans to go into Key West as ready to race as we can possibly be.”
Neither Valder nor Bruggemann could be reached for additional comment when this story went live. The Valder Yachts/Pro Floors Racing team’s exit puts the M CON/Monster Energy team of Tyler Miler and Myrick Coil in a commanding position to claim the national title, its second in as many years.
