Two V-10 Outboard-Powered South Bay Tri-Toons Headed To PBC—With A Stop In Miami

Given that the Lake of Ozarks Shootout speed-record of 114 mph for a pontoon boat is held by a 25-foot South Bay model piloted by Illinois-based owner Brad Rowland, it makes perfect sense that Performance Boat Center proudly carries the South Bay line brand. Not only is the multi-brand full-service dealership tucked away in a quiet cove at the Central Missouri waterway, it is the longtime title-sponsor of the annual Central Missouri event.

Both South Bay tri-toons bound for Performance Boat Center following the Miami Boat Show are under construction.
So visitors to the Miami International Boat Show shouldn’t be surprised to find the likes of Performance Boat Center co-owner Brett Manire or salesman Michael Hall answering questions in South Bay display, along staffers from the Indiana-based pontoon builder in the Miami Convention Center during the February 12-6 event.
Headed to Performance Boat Center headquarters after the show as floor models for its showroom, a pair of South Bay 25 Sport tri-toons models will be prominently displayed in the manufacturer’s convention center booth. Both 25-footers are currently under construction. Each 25-footer will be powered by a Mercury Racing 400R V-10 outboard engine.

If a 25-foot South Bay pontoon boat is good enough Brad Rowland, who was inducted into the Bob Morgan Memorial Lake of the Ozarks Shootout Hall of Fame in 2019, the brand is good enough for Performance Boat Center to carry. Photo by Pete Boden copyright Shoot 2 Thrill Pix.
“These will be the first South Bay tri-toons we’ve taken delivery of with the V-10 400s,” said Manire. “We plan on having two PBC representatives at the South Bay exhibit during the show.”
