Trio Of DCB M37R Cats In The Mix For 1,000 Islands Charity Poker Run

Upstate New York generally isn’t considered a hotbed for models from DCB Performance Boats, now DCB Performance Marine with the company’s recent move from Southern California to its new headquarters in Arizona. But as those East-West lines continue to blur thanks in good measure to the company’s full-tunnel M37R catamaran with outboard power, that’s changing.

Case in point, this weekend’s sold-out 1,000 Islands Charity Poker Run in Clayton, N.Y. Event organizing committee members Ken and Renee Lalonde already have their 37-footer in town. Straight from the 20th annual Boyne Thunder Poker in Northern Michigan, South Florida’s Greg Harris and Yvonne Aleman arrived in Clayton yesterday afternoon with their colorful M37R in tow.

And Upstate New York’s Kelly O’Hara and Kiran Pinisetti of Indiana are bringing their new 37-foot DCB creation powered by Mercury Racing 500R outboard engines. O’Hara will run his 36-foot MTI catamaran called Holy Cow!!! and Pinisetti will pilot their new DCB.

“It isn’t just amazing to have three 37s in the 1,000 Islands this weekend, the owners of all three boats are the finest brand ambassadors imaginable,” said Jeff Johnston, the president of DCB, who is heading to Clayton tomorrow. “I’m looking to being there to support these incredible members of our DCB family—and I’m really looking forward to seeing these three cats running on one of the world’s most beautiful waterways.”

Harris and Aleman are looking forward to exploring the 1,000 Islands area this week in their 37-footer.

The Lalonde’s campaigned their then-new DCB in last year’s 1,000 Islands Charity Poker Run. Harris and Aleman tackled the run for the first time in 2018 in their 32-foot Skater Powerboats catamaran called Mad Props, which they eventually sold and replaced with their 37-footer of the same name.

“We had an amazing time in 2018, but we weren’t aware of all the additional things to do and see,” said Harris. “We only had time to do the actual event. This time we are here even earlier so we can take in the sights, and see some of this amazing water, while exploring on her own prior to the run.”
