‘Three North, Three South’—Super Stock Owners Announce 2024 Internal Series
The team owners in offshore powerboat racing’s Super Stock class have finalized their own internal National Championship schedule for 2024. The final six-race roster, which includes events produced by the Offshore Powerboat Association, Powerboat P1 and Race World Offshore, is:
May 17-19—Cocoa Beach, Fla. (P1)
May 31-June 2—Lake of the Ozarks, Mo. (P1)
August 4—Michigan City, Ind. (OPA)
August 9-11—Sheboygan, Wis. (P1)
September 13-15—Sarasota, Fla. (P1)
September 27-29—Clearwater, Fla. (RWO)

“The owners voted to include three races ‘North’ and three races ‘South,’” said Ryan Beckley, the longtime representative for the Super Stock class. “And we won’t use a drop-race format this season. Everyone was good with six races.”
Though the Super Stock owners National Championship schedule includes races on the 2024 American Power Boat Association Offshore National Championship roster, it is as noted an internal owner-selected slate of events. Powerboat P1 and Race World Offshore are APBA member-organizations and, as such, have received APBA sanctions for their events, while the Offshore Powerboat Association—the producer of the Michigan City contest—is not and has not at this time.
The Super Stock group consistently produces some of the most intense competition in the sport.
“Everyone is welcome to do any other races they want, just not for points in our championship series,” Beckley explained.
Beckley added that Super Stock teams will, of course, compete at the Race World Offshore Key West World Championships set for November 3-10.
