Between pandemic restrictions and booming demand for its center consoles, Sunsation Boats of Algonac, Mich., hasn’t held a customer-appreciation day on the water for a few years. That will change come August 4 with the company’s Sun Run, which celebrates the high-performance center-console builder’s 40th anniversary, on Lake St. Clair.
The event is open to Sunsation center console and sportboat owners from around the country.

“With COVID in the rearview mirror, we’re back at events this summer and will be hosting one of our own,” said Brad DiMaggio, Sunsation’s director of marketing. “The 40th Anniversary Sun Run is our way to get the Sunsation community together here on our home lake.
“We’re anticipating a good turnout and quite a variety of boats from our offshore performance days to the current CCX lineup,” he added.
Located in Clay Township, Cabana Blue Lakeside Sports Bar and Grill will be the host venue for the run. The day will begin with brunch at the waterfront restaurant, which can accommodate more than 200 boats. From there, the fleet will make of a couple of stops (details to be announced) before rafting up on Munchies Bay.

Said DiMaggio, “This will be our first event in the last few years so we’re excited to put this on and see what kind of a turnout we get. When we get a head count, formal communication on the event will be sent out to those who signed up.”
