Sunsation Going Grassroots With ‘Sunny Sundays’ At Lake Of The Ozarks

A couple of fun-loving Michiganders, Ryan Wenk and Aaron Treppa spend plenty of time on the road for Sunsation Boats—and that’s not just because Wenk is the national sales and marketing manager and Treppa is the production manager for the Algonac, Mich., high-performance center-console company. Both are relaxed and approachable. Both have what was once known in the hospitality business as “10-second likability.”

That makes them ideal representatives for the brand at home and on the road. So throughout the year, Wenk and Treppa experience events—all in Sunsation CCX center consoles, of course—at waterways across the country. And one of their favorites, the first of three ‘Sunsation Sundays’ happened last weekend in Central Missouri

“That was probably my favorite trip to the Lake of the Ozarks yet,” said Wenk. “Sunny Sundays were the brainchild of Performance Boat Center’s Brett Manire and Michael Hall. We have been wanting to do Sunsation-specific events at the lake for a long time. So with all the Sunsation owners in town last Friday and Saturday for the first Powered by Performance Invitational Fun Run, that was the perfect time to start. It was like a mini ‘Sun Run.’

Brand enthusiasm runs high with the Sunsation faithful.

“Sunny Sundays will happen on the third Sunday of every month this summer,” he added. “We will have representation from the factory at all three of them. We’re excited about it.”

Last Sunday’s event saw more than a dozen Sunsation center consoles head to Dog Days Bar and Grill in Osage Beach for a couple of hours, and then finish the day at Paradise Restaurant in Sunrise Beach.

The next Sunny Sunday is scheduled for July 21, and will be followed the final one of the summer on August 18.

Members of the Sunsation group logged on and in the water last Sunday.

“From what I saw at the first one, Sunny Sundays will gain speed fast,” said Manire.

Wenk agreed. “There is nothing better than seeing a line of Sunsations at the docks,” he said, then chuckled.
