Sneak Peek: Performance Powerboats P-420 Catamaran No. 1 And More
By all accounts from the high-performance powerboat builders and accessory companies that support it, the Shootout On Strip street display and celebration sponsored by Waves and Wheels delivers far more exposure marketing exposure than the Lake of the Ozarks Shootout in Central Missouri itself, which is set this year for August 23-27. If the new Performance Powerboats P-420 catamaran makes two runs down the three-quarter-mile Shootout course, for example, fans in the spectator fleet will see it for all of about one minute.
What will the first 42-foot Performance Powerboats catamaran look like when it’s finished? Find out Wednesday evening, August 23, at the Shootout On The Strip event.
On the other hand, those same fans will have several hours to admire it up close during the Wednesday evening street display along Bagnell Dam Boulevard.
That fact is not lost on Lake of the Ozarks Shootout presenting sponsor Performance Boat Center, the Osage Beach, Mo.-based outfit behind the Performance Powerboats brand. Powered by a pair of Mercury Racing 500R outboard engines, P-420 hull No. 1 will compete in the Shootout.
But it will receive its largest dose of exposure during its Shootout On The Strip debut.
“The P-420 is in the paint booth getting its clearcoat as we speak,” said Johnny Bauer, who is heading the development and production of the Performance Powerboats line. “To see what this complete package will look like, come see us in front of Roxy’s on the Strip at the Wednesday night street party along with a slew of our latest P-360 cats to kick off Shootout week presented by Performance Boat Center.
“The new P-420 and other Performance Powerboats P-360 cats also will be on display at the Thursday welcome party at participants at Performance Boat Center as well,” he added. ‘We are proud and excited to show the performance boating world what our team has created.”
Headed for rigging before delivery to its California-based owner, this show-stopping P-360 catamaran will be on display at the Performance Boat Center exhibit during the Shootout On The Strip event, which opens Shootout week for most visitors.
