Sheboygan Midwest Challenge And New Orleans Grand Prix Added To 2025 Pro Class 1 Schedule

Offshore racing’s Pro Class 1 owners group released its revised 2025 competition schedule today and the Sheboygan Midwest Challenge and New Orleans Grand Prix have been added. Yesterday’s official cancelation of the Toronto Grand Prix made space for the third annual Powerboat P1-produced event in the waterfront Wisconsin city.

The group announced the new schedule this afternoon on social media.

Both races are part of the inaugural Powerboat P1 Triple Crown series. The St. Petersburg Grand Prix, the final race in the series, was already on the Pro Class 1 schedule when the owners group released it in early December.

At present, the New Orleans event is a divisional race under the American Power Boat Association. A source inside the sport said that could change as early as next week.

That does not, however, guarantee that all Pro Class 1 teams will run all three races in the series, which the owners group decided—by vote—would be an eight-event affair with two drop-events. The series begins May 17-18 with the Thunder

At present, there are eight teams—Alegra Motorsports, Defalco, dfYoung, Factory MTI, Monster Energy/M CON, WHM Motorsports, XINSURANCE North and XINSURANCE South—in the Pro Class 1 ranks.
