Marketing executive Hannah Lindoff of the Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute (ASMI) is assuming leadership of the nonprofit hunger-relief seafood entity SeaShare on April 1, filling the spot being vacated by Jim Harmon, who’s retiring after 23 years.

Lindoff has worked with ASMI’s international program for over 15 years, most recently as senior director of global marketing and strategy, obtaining grant funds and managing special projects. She has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Mary Washington in Virginia and a master’s degree in fine arts from the University of Alaska Anchorage.

SeaShare officials cited her overall understanding of the seafood industry and expertise in getting seafood to those in greatest need.

Rasmus Soerensen, president of the board of directors of SeaShare, and chief commercial officer of American Seafoods Co., said Harmon has made a tremendous positive impact on SeaShare, helping feed underserved communities and individuals nationwide with nutrient-dense seafood products.

Since its founding in 1994, and throughout Harmon’s tenure, SeaShare has distributed more than 265 million nutritious seafood servings to those who need it the most, SeaShare officials said.

Lindoff said SeaShare represents what she considers the best part of the seafood industry, its sharing with those in need and mitigating hunger.

“Jim leaves enormous shoes to fill, but I look forward to building on the strong foundation he’s created as we continue to enhance our efforts to get some of the best food in the world to those who need it most,” she said.

SeaShare, a 501c3 nonprofit based in Bainbridge Island, Wash., was founded in 1994. It’s the only domestic nonprofit focused on seafood as a source of nutrition for food banks.
