Sea Tow Foundation offers free resource kit for National Safe Boating Week
In an effort to maximize the potential for positive boating safety messaging prior to the busy boating season, the Sea Tow Foundation has created a National Safe Boating Week Resource Kit available free of charge to marine industry stakeholders. The kit offers instructions on how to share a wealth of resources including safety tips, photos, videos, blogs and social media posts to cover the entire seven days.
“With National Safe Boating Week running from May 21 – 27, we wanted to get ahead of the event and provide free content and imagery for both our for-profit and non-profit recreational boating industry colleagues during this year’s campaign,” said Sea Tow Foundation Executive Director Gail R. Kulp. “We’ve heard from many stakeholders and colleagues that they’d like to support the effort, so we’ve created a simple resource kit to make it easy to participate.”
This is the tenth year the Sea Tow Foundation has actively promoted National Safe Boating Week in cooperation with industry partners including Sea Tow franchises, its Life Jacket Loaner Station hosts and its Boating Safety Advisory Council members, among others. Last year’s outreach efforts generated 7,500 unique visitors to the Foundation’s website resulting in more than 11,500 page views, along with nearly 1,500 social media engagements.
“Our goal is to generate as much positive publicity and outreach for boating safety as possible, especially prior to the busy Memorial Day holiday when boaters traditionally return to the waterways,” said Kulp. “The more companies and organizations within the industry who share positive boating safety messages, the better, so we hope many more will come aboard and help us in this important effort.”
